No. 15 Broncos Defeat No. 13 Navy, 11-8, at NorCal Tournament

STOCKTON, Calif. - After falling in game one at the NorCal Tournament hosted at the University of the Pacific, the No. 15 Santa Clara men's water polo team dived back into their second game and defeated No. 13 Navy, 11-8.

"This is the toughest tournament we participate in all season," said head coach Keith Wilbur. "This is the first time we have won on the first day, and we were able to come back after this morning's loss and match Navy's physicality."

Freshman goalie Michael Wishart had another standout game, posting 15 blocks to take the Broncos to a 1-1 record in the tournament after day one of play.

Liam Farrell saw the back of the net three times, and Jack Wall and Josh Early each scored two goals. Sophomore Nicholas Poggetti posted two steals and had three kick outs drawn.

SCU returns to the pool for day two of the Tournament. At noon they will face the unranked Gauchos of UC Santa Barbara.
