BERKELEY, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis wrapped up play at the Cal Fall Invitational on Sunday in the first fall tournament for the full squad. The Broncos picked up nine singles wins and one doubles victory in the three-day tournament.

Maddie Pothoff, who entered the 2018 fall season ranked No. 110 in singles in the Oracle/ITA preseason national rankings, picked up two wins in Flight A before losing in the quarterfinals to No. 85 Mariia Kozyreva of Saint Mary's, 6-2, 6-2.

Lindsey Pesqueira teamed up to advance to the semifinals of the Flight B consolation doubles bracket before falling 8-7(2) to Nevada's Melissa Huchet and Kristina Iagoda.
Pesqueira also got her first collegiate singles win in the Flight C bracket against San Francisco's Alisha Sharma, 6-0, 6-3. Fellow freshman
Jamie Schroer also earned her first collegiate singles victory beating BYU's Anastasia Abramyan 1-6, 7-6(5), 1-0(7) in Flight C.
Next up for the Broncos is the Saint Mary's Invitational in Moraga, California from Friday to Sunday.
