USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - Santa Clara secures a thrilling victory against Air Force, clinching an overtime win with a final score of 13-11. This marks Santa Clara's first win at Air Force since 2016. Bennett Stafford stands out with an impressive performance, contributing three goals, one assist, and one steal to the team's success. Eight other Broncos contributed a goal with Zach Fales and Billy Barry both with two to end the game.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Santa Clara gave up two quick goals in the first period, but the Broncos came back to take the lead 5-3 at the end of the first half. Bennett Stafford paved the way with his two goals late in the second period.

The Broncos continued the lead at the start of the second half, with Kyto Fraley and Matt Somers finding the back of the net within the first minute of the third period, putting the Broncos up 7-3.

The Falcons were able to score three times in the last two minutes of the third period, closing the Bronco lead to 8-7, and eventually tying it up 9-9 in the fourth.

Overtime started with Air Force taking a quick 11-10 lead until Chase Raisin matched the game up to 11-11 with 50 seconds left in the 5th period.

Moving into the second overtime period, Cody Ferguson scored 30 seconds in, giving the Broncos the 12-11 lead. To solidify the win, Stafford found the back of the net in a powerplay, putting the Broncos on top 13-11.

Harrison Labrosse started in the net as the goalie, recording 7 saves and one steal.
