SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball has officially signed the second member of their 2024 signing class. Elijah Mahi, an outstanding prospect at forward from West Valley College, officially signed his letter of intent and will join the Broncos for the 2024-25 season. Head Coach

A 6-foot-6 native of Toronto, Canada, Mahi is entering his sophomore season at West Valley. His first year with the Vikings couldn't have gone much better as he averaged 17.5 points per game on 50.8 percent shooting, while also tallying 6.5 boards and 2.7 assists per game, en route to leading to the team to a 26-5 overall record (10-2 in league play). He was one of just five freshmen that were selected to the 2022-23 CCCAA All-State Team, and was also honored as the Coast Freshman of the Year, Coast-South Defensive Player of the Year, and earned spots on the All-Coast First Team and All-Coast Freshman Team.
Mahi made waves in the Vikings' postseason opener vs. Porterville, turning in 28 second-half points to erase a 30-19 halftime deficit and lead the team to a 67-60 victory. He finished the game with a season-high 35 points.
The Toronto native also has national team experience. He spent summer 2023 playing for the Canadian U23 Men's National Team, and averaged 11.7 points and five rebounds in the Global Jam while helped lead Team Canada to the championship game against the United States.
Mahi played his high school ball at Potter's House Christian in Jacksonville, Fla. As a senior in 2021-22, he averaged 14.6 points, 6.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 18 outings.
