SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball returns from the Sunshine State where they went 1-1 in the Emerald Coast Classic in Niceville, Fla., to take on Menlo inside the Leavey Center on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. PT. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The Broncos (6-1) are looking to bounce back after suffering their first loss of the season on Saturday against Ohio State (5-1). Santa Clara began their weekend with a big upset victory over Oregon (88-82) to advance to the Emerald Coast Classic Championship Game, but was unable to find much rhythm against a very good Buckeye squad that took down previously unbeaten No. 17 Alabama the day prior. Still, finishing runner-up in a field featuring Ohio State, Alabama and Oregon is nothing to hang your head over.
Santa Clara now turns their sights to Menlo, who they will face for the second-consecutive season. The Broncos have won the previous two games against the Mighty Oaks, but could have their hands full against the 8-1 squad and star player Landon Seaman, who averages 22.1 ppg.
The game against Menlo is one of just three remaining home games for the calendar year. The Broncos will take on Utah State on Dec. 13 and Yale on Dec. 30. All other nonconference games will be played on either neutral ground or on the road, beginning Saturday at Cal in Berkeley.
