SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO - Kinsey Hall was named WCC All-Academic First Team, followed by Katie Castelli, Erica Julian, Noelani Krauss, Irene Nagasaka, Sophie Smithstanza, and Kaylee Volner, who took home honorable mention for their hard work.
Hall added to her most recent First Team All-WCC accomplishment by also being named to the All-Academic team. As a senior double majoring in Economics and Political Science, she recorded a 3.943 in the classroom. Finishing 10th at the WCC Championships, Hall also set two personal bests in the 6k and 5k. At the Bronco Invitational, she finished with a time of 20:34.2 and beat her previous 5k record while at the Joe Piane Invitational with a time of 17:27.4.
Castelli, a junior studying Child Studies, also broke her personal bests in the 5k and 6k. She finished the Bronco Invitational with a time of 20:47.1, and the Joe Piane Invitational 5k at 17:58.3.
Julian completed her senior season as she continued to double major in Biology and Music. This past fall, she set personal bests in the 4k, 5k, and 6k. At the Waves Invitational 4k, she finished with a time of 16:18.4, Tri Meet 5k completed in 21:03.4, and she ran the Bronco Invitational 6k in 23:57.6.
Krauss, a sophomore studying psychology, also set personal bests in the 4k, 5k, and 6k. She crossed the finish line at the Waves Invitational with a time of 15:15.2, the Tri Meet at 18:42.2, and the Bronco Invitational at 22:17.9.
Nagasaka continued to push herself on the course and in the classroom during her senior season. As a double major studying Psychology and Child Studies with a minor in Spanish Studies, she finished 18th at the WCC Championships. Nagasaka also set a new personal best in the 5k, after beating it at the Joe Piane Invitational with a time of 18:21.3.
Smithstanza, a sophomore Finance major, earned a spot on the all-academic team for her first time. She set her newest bests in the 5k and 4k this season, completing the Waves Invitational with a time of 15:23.9 and the Joe Piane Invitational at 20:03.7.
Volner was the last Bronco with an honorable mention nod, as she completed her sophomore season while studying Biochemistry. She also set bests in the 4k and 6k, finishing with a time of 15:00.2 at the Waves Invitational and 22:33.2 at the Bronco Invitational.
