SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball has one just final game on the calendar for 2023. The Broncos will host Yale University for a 4:00 p.m. PT tip inside the Leavey Center on Saturday, Dec. 30, to wrap up nonconference play. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+ with Anthony Passarelli and Henry Caruso on the call. 

The Broncos (9-5) are coming off a big neutral-site victory over Duquesne to pick up their ninth victory of the year. Trailing by eight midway through the second half, Santa Clara closed the game on a 17-4 run to come out on top, 81-73. Carlos Marshall, Jr. and Adama-Alpha Bal each scored 19 points while Brenton Knapper, making his fourth-straight start, tallied a career-best 12 points. 

Marshall, Jr. and Bal are one of the top scoring duos in the WCC, ranking at fourth and fifth, respectively in the league. Bal is averaging 15.7 points per game while Bal is just behind him at 15.3. The Broncos feature the second-best scoring offense in the league at 78.3 ppg and features the league's top 3-point shooting mark of 38.4 percent (23rd-best nationally). 

Yale is 7-6 on the year and have split the two games they've played against WCC opponents - first falling 86-71 at Gonzaga and winning 83-80 over LMU. Led by James Jones in his 25th season at the helm, the Bulldogs are averaging 75.0 ppg. Sophomore forward Danny Wolf is the top shot blocker in the Ivy League (20) and is second in rebounding (8.8). He's also second on the team in scoring (13.2).
