SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara women's tennis and Cal State Fullerton battled on the courts of the Degheri Tennis Center on Sunday with the Titans coming up on top 4-3.
The match clincher came at 3-all on court two where Natalie Duffy won a closely contested match over Velizara Fileva 7-6 (7-5), 7-5. Duffy was also involved in the doubles point clincher teaming up with
Camilia Garcia to defeat JennaMarie Gordon and Giulia Hayer 6-4 at No. 1.
In a back and forth affair, Kacey Feng captured the first singles point to level the team score at 1-all. Feng beat Megan Tagaloa 6-3, 6-3 at No. 6. The Titans and the Broncos alternated wins before Zoe Olmos put Cal State Fullerton up 3-2 with her victory over Gordon 6-1, 7-5 atop the lineup.
The Broncos (0-4) answered to knot the match up at 3-all on Finley Kalinic's win over Garcia 6-3, 7-5 before Duffy's clincher.
