SAN DIEGO - JennaMarie Gordon and Velizara Fileva won their doubles and singles matches but the Santa Clara women's tennis team was narrowly edged out by Point Loma 4-3 on Thursday at the PLNU Tennis Courts.
The Bronco duo teamed up to defeat Arianna Audelo and Faith Pearson 7-6 (7-3) to clinch the doubles point putting Santa Clara (0-15) up 1-0 in the match.
Fileva's singles victory at No. 3 over Angelique Friedrich 6-3, 6-3 evened the team score at 2-all. However, PLNU (12-6) took the next two singles matches including the clincher by Thelma Sepulveda. Sepulveda downed Dasee Carter 6-3, 6-2 at No. 4 securing the PLNU victory before Gordon closed out the match with her straight-set victory over Arianna Audelo 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 atop the lineup.

The Broncos remain in the San Diego area and head to La Jolla to play UC San Diego on Friday. First serve at 1 p.m.
