No. 13 Women's Soccer Finishes Nonconference With Blowout Win of Pacific

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Playing at home for the first time in three weeks, No. 13 Santa Clara women's soccer came away with a dominant 6-0 win over Pacific in the final nonconference match of the year. Farrah Walters led the way with her second career hat trick.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • Walters got the scoring going with two beautiful goals in the 17th and 24th minutes. She finished the hat trick in the 59th off a pass from Lucy Mitchell.
  • Leah O'Brien scored the third goal of the day in the 34th when she tapped one in from just outside the six-yard box.
  • Just before halftime, Alex Klos scored in 43rd minute. Addie Whitehouse sent a corner to the top corner of the box that Kloss and Kloss took before knocking it off the bottom of the cross bar and in.
  • Kelsey Oen, a transfer from Pacific, capped the scoring in the 65th minute. Colby Barnett sent a free kick into the six-yard box that slipped through the goalkeeper's hands and Oen was there to knocked it in. It was her first as a Bronco.
 
NOTABLE NUMBERS:
  • Bella Panaccione finished the day with a pair of assists, the first two of her career. Also adding an assist each were Mitchell, Barnett, Oen, Alyssa Bourgeois, Addie Whitehouse, and Malia Yamamoto. It was the first of Yamamoto's career.
  • The Broncos (7-2-2) ended the day with 24 shots and 11 on target while Pacific (6-4-1) posted seven and three.
  • Santa Clara also drew nine corners while allowing two.
  • Walters' hat trick was the 31st in program history.
