BERKELEY, Calif. – In the fall season opener at the Cal Fall Invite on Friday, Santa Clara women's tennis racked up six total victories - four in doubles play and two in singles action. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• All eight Santa Clara players that played picked up a win in doubles with JennaMarie Gordon and Varya Zlotnik each getting a singles victory. 
• The four doubles teams all won their opening round matches but three of them fell in the next round.  The tandem Olivia Wiese and Anna Semler just played one match in the grey flight quarterfinals.
• Gordon won her singles match with a three-set victory over Michelle Zell in the blue flight (top flight) round of 32 whereas Zlotnik took down Mathilde Tranberg in straight set in the white flight's round of 32.  

NEXT UP:

• The second day of the Cal Fall Invite is scheduled for Saturday.
