Need To Know For 2023-24

SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball is heading for Los Angeles for the first two games of their 2023-24 WCC schedule. First up is a meeting with LMU at Gersten Pavilion on Thursday at 8:00 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ESPN+. Anthony Passarelli and John Stege will have the audio streaming call on Sidearm Sports. Both links can be found above.

The Broncos wrapped up nonconference play with a 9-6 mark. After picking up a good win on neutral ground over Duquesne, Santa Clara was unable to sustain that success in the nonconference finale against Yale, falling to the Bulldogs 66-58. The Yale defense clamped down and held the Broncos to their lowest shooting percentage of the season. Despite that, the Santa Clara defense also fared well, holding Yale to just 37 percent - the sixth time the Bronco defense has held an opponent under 37 percent this year. Tyeree Bryan provided a huge spark off the bench with a season-high 17 points and nearly had a double-double with nine rebounds. Christoph Tilly returned from injury and scored 11 points to go with five rebounds.

Santa Clara has fared well in WCC openers the last few years, and is currently riding a six-game win streak back to 2017-18.

LMU was 7-7 in nonconference play and ranks fourth in the league in both scoring offense (74.6) and defense (69.6). Gonzaga transfer guard Dominick Harris leads the team in scoring at 14.5 ppg (seventh in WCC) and is one of the top 3-point shooters in the league (39 total treys on 44.3 percent).
