Box Score LOS ANGELES – A pair of early goals, No. 10 Santa Clara women's soccer picked up a 2-0 win at LMU on Saturday night.
Kennedy Schoennauer recorded her fourth brace of the year with both goals coming within minutes of each other as the Broncos (9-2-2, 3-0-1 WCC) were in total control in the first half before the Lions (8-4-1, 2-2-1 WCC) evened things a bit over the final 45 minutes.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Schoennauer's first came in the ninth minute after a defensive miscue by LMU. A turnover gave the Broncos the ball and Schoennauer hit a perfect shot from outside the 25-yards out that went inside the far post.
- Schoennauer did it again did it again in the 12th. After passes from Sally Menti and Marissa Vasquez found Schoennauer, she turned just outside the 18-yard box and once again hit a strike inside the far post.
- LMU had a golden opportunity in the 88th minute. After a review determined there was a handball in the box, Jennessa Groves had her penalty kick saved by Marlee Nicolos to keep the clean sheet.

NOTABLE NUMBERS:
- Santa Clara outshot LMU 13-8 and 7-6 in shots on target. Tori Powell also hit the cross bar in the first half.
- The Broncos earned three corners while surrendering two.
- Nicolos finished the night with six saves. JJ Hover had five for the Lions
- Santa Clara has beaten LMU 13 times in a row, dating back to 2011.
- The Broncos are now 52-6-5 in WCC play since 2017.
