Santa Clara Baseball Unveils Strong 2025 Schedule

Santa Clara's 2025 schedule includes 27 home games and contests versus 11 30-win teams from a year ago.
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — The Santa Clara University baseball team announced on Wednesday its highly ambitious 2025 schedule, featuring matchups against 11 teams that notched 30 or more wins last year and four programs that competed in the 2024 NCAA Tournament.

The Broncos (26-26 in 2024) are set to host 27 games at Stephen Schott Stadium, kicking off with a four-game series versus CSUN (30-24 in 2024) starting on Opening Day, Feb. 14. Season tickets, single-game, and mini plans for all 2025 home games are available now. Click here to purchase tickets online, call the Broncos ticket office at (408-554-4660), or email broncotickets@scu.edu.

Santa Clara enters 2025 with momentum, having posted back-to-back .500-or-better seasons for the first time in 18 years. The Broncos' 26 wins in 2024 also marked the program's third consecutive season with 24 or more victories, a feat last accomplished 16 years ago. And Santa Clara's consecutive appearances at the WCC Tournament (2023 and '24) marked the first time in 27 years it had gone to the postseason in consecutive seasons.

"One of our program goals is to challenge our team every year and prepare them to compete in the WCC," said Santa Clara head coach Rusty Filter. "Our early schedule does that, and we're excited to face another top-tier schedule in 2025 with great opponents from the SEC, ACC, Big West, WAC, and Mountain West."

The Broncos' road schedule features marquee matchups against elite programs. Santa Clara will make its first-ever trip to Austin, Texas, for a three-game series against the Texas Longhorns (36-24) from March 7-9. Texas, which made its fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance in 2024, finished third in the Big 12 last season. This series marks the first meeting between the two teams since the 1962 College World Series, a game Santa Clara won, 4-3, in 10 innings.

Santa Clara will also take on Oregon State, a 2024 NCAA Super Regional participant and winner of 45 games, in Corvallis, Ore., on March 15. That same day, the Broncos face Grand Canyon (36-25), the reigning WAC champion and NCAA Tournament qualifier, as part of a doubleheader. Additional highlights include a home-and-home series with California (36-19), starting with two road games on Feb. 28 and March 1, followed by two home games on March 2-3. The Broncos also face El Camino Real rival Stanford in a pair of games—on the road April 1 and at home May 6.

Big West matchups feature prominently in the 2025 slate. The Broncos will host Hawaii (37-16) on April 8 and Cal Poly (35-22) on April 29 for midweek games. UC San Diego visits for a four-game series from March 27-30, while Santa Clara travels to UC Davis for a three-game set on Feb. 21-23.

In conference play, Santa Clara faces a rigorous West Coast Conference road schedule, starting with a trip to Pepperdine on April 4-6 to open conference play. Other challenging away series include Portland (37-19) from May 1-3, Saint Mary's (34-22) from May 15-17, and LMU on April 17-19. The Lions captured the WCC regular season title in 2023.

The Broncos' first home WCC series will take place March 21-23 against San Francisco. They'll also host Gonzaga on April 11-13, Pacific on April 25-27 and defending conference champion San Diego (41-15) for the final home series of the regular season from May 9-11.
