IRVINE, Calif. – Down three matches to one, Varya Zlotnik completed Santa Clara women's tennis' comeback victory over UC Irvine with a three-set clincher on Saturday afternoon at the Anteater Tennis Stadium.  The Broncos were playing their first match since Jan. 27 having their last two canceled due to rain including yesterday's match against Concordia University Irvine. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

• With the team score knotted up at 3-all, Zlotnik defeated Larissa Teramura 6-3, 2-6, 6-2 on court five to clinch the Santa Clara (2-1) victory. 
• Prior to that, the Broncos trailed 3-1 but JennaMarie Gordon downed Jenna Schlatter 7-5, 6-4 on court one and Gabriela Tevez beat Haily Huynh 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 on court four to even things out setting the stage for Zlotnik. 
• Santa Clara won the doubles point on victories by Finley Kalinic/Zlotnik as well as Gordon/Velizara Fileva. 
• UC Irvine (1-3) took the first three singles matches on courts three, two and six. 

• The Broncos travel to UC Davis next Saturday at noon.
