HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Santa Clara stretched its lead out to 33-24 with 4:17 left in the first half on a 13-3 run over two and a half minutes. The Broncos would hold a lead of 37-30 at the halftime break.
  • San Francisco got the deficit down to two midway through the third quarter with an 11-2 run but once again, Santa Clara had a response. The Broncos would close out the quarter on a 15-3 run to get the lead out to 58-44.
  • The Dons were able to cut into the deficit a big in the fourth but it was too late into the final quarter for it to matter.
