Heal Scores 1,000th Point as Women's Basketball Beats San Diego

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – Tess Heal had a big game and scored her 1,000th career point as Santa Clara women's basketball took care of San Diego 83-57 Thursday night in Leavey Center. The Broncos took control midway through the first quarter and never looked back.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • An 8-0 run to end the first and start the second stretched the lead out to double-digits. A 6-0 stretch late in the second quarter gave Santa Clara a 15-point lead and the Broncos would go to the break leading 38-25.
  • The lead continued to grow in the third and fourth quarters as Santa Clara pulled away to erase any doubt.
