Men's Tennis Sweeps UNLV on Saturday

SANTA CLARA, Calif. – The No. 54-ranked Santa Clara men's tennis team handily defeated UNLV 7-0 at home to extend their win streak to four matches. 

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Santa Clara won all three doubles and six singles matches to sweep UNLV 7-0.
  • Sebastian Buxman had a hand in the clinching matches in both double and singles. 
  • In doubles, Buxman teamed up with Lukas Maskow at line two to down Dusan Rsovac and Jackson Atherton 6-3 to clinch the double point for SCU (9-2). 
  • The Broncos did not drop a single set in their singles matches. 
  • Luca Lemaitre won the first singles match at line four over Tayio Hirano 6-3, 6-1.  Guillaume Dalmasso followed with a 7-5, 6-2 triumpth over Aaron Bailey on line two to put the Broncos up 3-0.
  • Buxman closed it out with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Martin Jovenin for the fourth and clinching point. 
  • SCU played out the remaining matches including a victory by No. 78 Christian Lerby over Dusan Rsovac 6-4, 6-3 atop the lineup. 
  • The Rebels fell to 5-6 on the season.

  • The Broncos hosts two matches next Saturday, March 16 against Seattle and UC Santa Cruz.
