Women's Tennis Loses at Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – Santa Clara women's tennis dropped a West Coast Conference road match against Pacific 4-1 on Tuesday afternoon.  

HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Pacific (12-6, 3-2 WCC) took two of the three doubles matches and won three of the first four singles matches to defeat Santa Clara 4-1. 
  • Indiya McLeod clinched the match for the Tiger when she took down Gabriela Tevez 6-4, 6-4 on court four.
  • Santa Clara's (5-12, 1-4 WCC) lone point came on singles court one from JennaMarie Gordon who beat Kiara Kosan 6-1, 6-3. 
  • McLeod and Tomi Main won both their doubles and singles matches.
  • The Broncos line two doubles tandem of Finley Kalinic and Varya Zlotnik beat Milena Maiorova and Alexis Sam 6-4 to split the first two doubles matches between the two schools but Main and Kosan clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory over Gordon and Velizara Fileva 6-4 on court one.

  • Santa Clara closes out the regular season at home against Gonzaga on Saturday.  Before the match, four seniors - JennaMarie Gordon, Finley Kalinic, Gaby Tevez and Varya Zlotnik - will be recognized in a pre-match ceremony starting at 11:15 a.m. PT.  First serve is at noon.
