Game two - Santa Clara 15, Fresno Pacific 5

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • To open the game against the Sunbirds, Sydney Maccabe took the first win off the sprint. This then gave Fredrickson the opportunity to notch the first goal of the game. • Fresh into the second period, Evelyn McLaughlin scored off a powerplay, putting the Broncos up 3-2. The Sunbirds matched that goal, but Chambliss followed up with a goal of her own. This put the score at 4-3 and proved to be the point where the Broncos were able to establish a lead. The score at the end of the second period was 7-4 in favor of Santa Clara.

  • Airi Seib started the third period with a win off the sprint, which Clough followed with a goal of her own. The Broncos' offense was in full force in the third, with the team scoring four goals.

  • In the fourth period, Seib won the sprint again, going 2-0 off the line. With six minutes left, she proceeded to score, extending the Bronco lead to 12-5. The Broncos shut out the Sunbirds in the fourth period as three more goals were tallied. The final score proved to be 15-5.
