SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Guillaume Dalmasso and Christian Lerby from the Santa Clara men's tennis team were named to the West Coast Conference All-Academic Team on Tuesday.

At the conclusion of each athletic season, the WCC selects an all-academic squad for each WCC-sponsored sport. To be considered, a student-athlete must maintain at least a 3.20 cumulative grade point average, while being a starter or important reserve (participate in at least 50 percent of the institution's completed contests) with legitimate athletic credentials and have at least sophomore athletic and academic standing with at least one year in residence completed at the nominating institution.

Dalmasso, a senior, and Lerby, a graduate student, have cumulative grade point averages of 3.777 and 3.933, respectively, to earn two of the 12 spots on the All-Academic Team.  

A finance major, Dalmasso finished the fall season ranked No. 102 in the ITA singles rankings and reached a high of No. 123 during the spring season rankings.  This is the second-straight year Dalmasso was named to the conference All-Academic team.   

Lerby is currently working on his master's degree in educational leadership program.  He finished ranked No. 44 in the ITA fall season singles final rankings and reached a high of No. 52 during the spring season singles rankings.  This is the first time Lerby is on the league All-Academic team. 

The two team captains helped the team ranked nationally for nine-straight weeks reaching a high of No. 53.  The No. 53 ranking is the highest ranking reached since the 2014-15 season when they were No. 52.  

The Broncos qualified for the WCC Tournament that starts this Thursday in San Diego.  The fifth-seeded Broncos will face fourth-seed LMU at 10 a.m.
