SANTA CLARA, Calif.
 - For the third time in the last four seasons, Santa Clara men's basketball is headed to the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), and once again, they are hosting the opening round. The Broncos will open their postseason journey on Tuesday, March 18 at 8:00 p.m. PT against UC Riverside on ESPNU.

Santa Clara is 20-12 overall, was 12-6 in conference play and finished in the top four of the West Coast Conference standings for the fourth consecutive season. The Broncos boast the league's second-best offense at 81.3 points per game, is eighth nationally in 3-pointers per game (10.8) and has a chance to break the WCC record for 3-pointers in a season as they enter the NIT just two shy of tying San Francisco's record of 349 set in 2022-23.

"We are excited to be a part of the postseason and to continue our season in the storied NIT," head coach Herb Sendek said.

The Broncos are making their third NIT appearance under Sendek after consecutive trips in 2021-22 and 2022-23, which Santa Clara also hosted the opening round. This is the program's seventh overall trip to the NIT with the Broncos earning invitations four times in the 1980s – 1984, 1985, 1988 and 1989.

Overall, this will be Santa Clara's 18th postseason appearance between the NCAA Tournament and NIT.
