SANTA CLARA, Calif. — Mia Barkett and Libby Slater both scored goals Saturday for the Santa Clara University women's water polo team, as visiting No. 13 Harvard earned an 18-2 non-conference victory at Sullivan Aquatic Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Barkett notched her third goal of the season in the first period to get the Broncos (4-11) on the board. Francesca Moynihan fed Barkett for the score at the 3 minutes, 7 seconds mark of the opening frame, making it 3-1 at the time.
   
• Slater battled down low at the two-meter spot for her goal right before the end of the first period. She turned and fired a shot into the net with eight seconds left in the first for her 21st score of the year.
   
• Harvard (18-4) scored five goals in the first and third periods, six in the second and two more in the fourth. Harvard opened the scoring early in the first period, with Dany Zapata netting the first goal at the 6:46 mark. Emma Gilbert quickly followed up with two goals of her own, giving the Crimson an early 3-0 advantage.
   
• Sofia Del Villar, Heidi Heffelfinger and Zapata all had hat tricks Saturday for Harvard. Orli Cooper made 11 saves for the Crimson, while Santa Clara goalkeepers Haley Tassell and Fritzi Warneke combined for three saves.

• The Broncos go on the road next weekend for three games in Southern California. They play back-to-back Golden Coast Conference games on Friday and Saturday against Azusa Pacific and LMU, respectively. They then take on Occidental College in a non-conference matchup on Sunday.
