No. 67 Men's Tennis Falls at New Mexico

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – No. 67 Santa Clara men's tennis fell to New Mexico 6-1 on the final day of the Jack Kennedy Classic at the outdoor courts of the Linda Estes Tennis Complex on Sunday.  
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

  • Playing atop the singles lineup, Aram Noroozian clinched the match for New Mexico (6-5) at 4-1 defeating No. 104 Alexander Watanabe Eriksson 6-3, 6-2.
  • Noroozian teamed up with Georgio Samaha to take the first doubles match over Luca Bluett and John Kim 6-1 on court one.  Aditya Balsekar and Avery Tallakson followed suit with the doubles point clincher over Luca Lemaitre and Lukas Maskow 6-1 on court three. 
  • The Lobos took five of the six singles matches from No. 67 Santa Clara (9-5) who had entered the match having won eight of their last nine matches.  
  • The lone Bronco win came on court two where Lemaitre beat Balsekar 6-1, 6-3 to close the gap on the team score at 2-1.  
  • However, UNM took the next two matches including the clincher by Noroozian.
