LOS ANGELES — The eighth-seeded Santa Clara University women's water polo team concluded its 2025 season Saturday in the seventh-place game of the 2025 Golden Coast Conference Tournament, falling 11-9 versus No. 7-seed Concordia University Irvine at the Burns Aquatic Center on the campus of LMU.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Broncos (6-19) led, 4-3, after Sydney Maccabe's goal one minute into the second period. But the Golden Eagles (7-23) scored two unanswered goals before halftime to lead by one, 5-4. The two teams were even after eight minutes of play, tied 3-3 after the first period.
   
• CUI expanded its lead to 7-4 midway through the third period. The Broncos responded with back-to-back goals from Megan Chambliss and Kate Rodman to make it a one-goal game again at 7-6. But again, a 3-1 run by the Golden Eagles in the final two minutes of the third period put them up 10-7.
   
• The Broncos outscored the Golden Eagles, 2-1, in the fourth period with two goals from Libby Slater, but they ran out of time, with Slater's last goal coming with only 31 seconds left in the game.
   
• Santa Clara was led by Sophia Harvey in the final game of her career with three goals. Slater, also playing in her final game as a Bronco, scored twice. Chambliss, Rodman, Maccabe, and Chloe Rizof each added one goal.
   
• Anna Tyukasz led Concordia with five goals. Munroe Blem and Sierrah Ferguson each scored twice, while Hannah Edwards and Presley Acosta added one goal apiece.
   
• Concordia goalkeeper Jaden Soto made 15 saves. Santa Clara's Haley Tassell recorded five saves.
