Pair of Second Half Goals the Difference for Women's Soccer at No. 9 Penn State

Box Score UNIVERSITY PARK, Penn. – Two second half goals were the difference as Santa Clara women's soccer fell 2-0 at No. 9 Penn State. After a scoreless first 45 minutes, the Nittany Lions (3-1) scored a pair of goals early in the second half and held the Bronco offense quiet.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
  • The first tally came in the 49th off a corner from Riley Gleason. Her ball just ticked the head of Aubrey St. Kulpa and went off the post and in.
  • St. Kulpa added a second on a pretty shot just out of the reach of Ally Reynolds in the 55th.

NOTABLE NUMBERS:
  • Santa Clara's offense was only able to get off four shots while not getting any of them on frame. The Broncos also drew three corners.
  • In net, Ally Reynolds started and played the full 90 while making two saves. She had a good game coming off her line to snuff out some Penn State attacks.
  • Eva Wirtz made her Santa Clara debut. The Notre Dame transfer missed all of last year and the first three matches of this season with an injury.

NEXT UP
  • The Broncos play at Pitt Sunday at 9 a.m. Pacific.
