Box Score BERKELEY, Calif. – Nonconference play came to a close with a 2-0 defeat at Cal for Santa Clara women's soccer, who was down seven players due to injury. The Bears (5-1-5) were on the front foot most the match while the Broncos (4-4) struggled to keep the ball and complete passes.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:

• Cal got on the board first. In the 38th minute, Mia Van More found the side of the net on a shot that went across the goal and inside the far post.
• A corner from Reese Doherty in the 69th minute found the head of Malia McMahon who knocked it off the post and in.

 
NOTABLE NUMBERS:

• Santa Clara's offense was held to just four shots on the day with none being on frame while Cal had 12 shots and five on target. The Broncos also were only able to draw one corner kick while surrendering four.
• Ally Reynolds made the start in net and made two saves in the first half. Amaris Franco played the second half with one save.
• The seven players out with injury included captains Kat Jordan and Malia Yamamoto and starter Ava Weiland.
