Santa Clara, Calif.- Santa Clara women's volleyball sophomore setter
Macy Hinshaw was named the West Coast Conference (WCC) Setter of the Week Monday, as announced by the conference.
Â
"Macy has been working hard to run a balanced offense for our team and create opportunities for our hitters. She also had a great defensive weekend denying kills in right back," Santa Clara head coach
Erin Lindsey said.
Â
Hinshaw recorded 126 assists over the weekend in three matches, averaging 9.69 assists per set. She went over 40 assists in all three matches, matching or going over her previous career high of 40 set earlier this season at Notre Dame on August 29.
Â
Hinshaw also recorded double-doubles in each match, adding 11, 10, and 15 digs against Cal Baptist, Long Beach State, and UNLV, respectively. She totaled 36 digs over the weekend, averaging 2.77 digs per set. The double-double against UNLV marks her fourth double-double of the season, while she also added a career best four kills against the Rebels.
Hinshaw is the first Bronco to win a weekly conference award since
Elena Radeff won WCC Offensive Player of the Week last season on November 25, 2024.
Â
The Broncos will continue their non-conference slate tomorrow against Cal State Bakersfield at 6:30 p.m. The game can be streamed on
ESPN+.
