Allen Graves Earns WCC Freshman of the Week Honors for Fifth Time

SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball redshirt freshman Allen Graves has once again been named WCC Freshman of the Week, winning the honor for the week of Feb. 16. It is the fifth time Graves has won the award, breaking a tie with Brandin Podziemski for the most WCC Player or Freshman of the week awards in a single season in program history.

Graves won his most recent honor after averaging 14 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.5 steals and posting an 8.0 assist-to-turnover ratio for the week against Seattle U. and No. 12 Gonzaga. The big man shot 42.9 percent from the floor, including 50 percent from 3-point range (4-8) and was an efficient 85.7 percent from the free throw line (12-of-14).

Graves opened the week with 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, three steals and a block in Santa Clara's 84-72 win over Seattle U. He knocked down a season-high four 3-pointers (4-of-6) to help the Broncos extend their win streak to nine - longest since 1994-95.

The Ponchatoula, La., product then turned in 13 points (9-of-10 FT) to go with three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals in the Broncos' tight 94-86 loss to the No. 12 Bulldogs.

Graves and the Broncos return to action Saturday, Feb. 21, at San Francisco.
