SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Santa Clara men's tennis players Valentin Faure and Ferran Redza were named West Coast Conference Doubles Team of the Week after the duo secured the doubles point in both matches this weekend, first against New Mexico and against No. 74 UNLV, to extend their win streak to six matches.

On Saturday, the Bronco duo defeated Philip Bosin and Dario Ciobotaru of New Mexico 6-2 to claim the doubles point in a match SCU would go on to win 6-1.

And on Sunday, Faure and Redza came up on top 6-4 against Vitaliy Horovoy and Ilia Snitari of UNLV to once again clinch the doubles point. The Broncos defeated the Rebels 4-2 in a battle between two nationally ranked teams with SCU ranked No. 40 this week.

Both wins came on court three where they are 6-2 on the season.  Overall, the Bronco tandem are 7-2 on the season.  

This is the first time Faure and Redza have been named WCC Doubles Team of the Week.  And it is the second time a Bronco doubles team garnered the award this season.  Luca Bluett and John Kim took the honors back on Jan. 27. 

Santa Clara next plays at home against Weber State on Sunday.  First serve is at 11 a.m. PT.
