SAN BRUNO, Calif. - Santa Clara women's basketball will be the third seed in the upcoming Credit Union 1 West Coast Conference Basketball Championship at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The Broncos finished tied with Oregon State in the standings but won the tiebreaker based on the head-to-head win.
Santa Clara finished league play at 13-5. The 13 conference victories are tied for the most in program history with the 1990-91 and 2015-16 teams. Head coach Loree Payne also set the program mark for conference wins by a first year head coach.
The Broncos first game will be Sunday, March 8 at 2 p.m. The opponent will be determined by a game the day before at 2:30 p.m.
A win would send Santa Clara to a semifinal matchup with Gonzaga Monday, March 9 at 2:30 p.m. The championship game is Tuesday March 10 at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.
