SAN BRUNO, Calif. — The Santa Clara University beach volleyball duo of Ciara Cantlen and Alexandra Urbina were named the West Coast Conference Pair of the Week Monday after earning two wins over ranked teams at last weekend's Long Beach State Invitational.
 
Cantlen and Urbina closed out day one of the tournament on Friday with a sweep over UAB's Olivia Chychrun and Ava Grace Knott, 21-19 & 21-18, at the No. 4 pairs. The Blazers entered the weekend ranked No. 24 in the TruVolley College Beach Volleyball rankings. The next day, Cantlen and Urbina earned another win at the No. 4 pairs, this time beating No. 14 Stetson's duo of Zoe Flueckiger and Anniina Muukka, 2-1 (22-20, 22-24, 15-12).
 
Cantlen and Urbina are 4-3 as a pair this season, with a 2-0 record at the No. 3 spot and a 2-3 mark at No. 4. Cantlen carries an 8-4 individual mark, including a 6-4 record at the 4s. Urbina is now 7-5 on the season, with a 5-2 record playing at the No. 3 pairs spot and a 2-3 mark at No. 4.
 
Cantlen, Urbina and the Broncos compete in Cal Poly's Mustang Roundup in San Luis Obispo, Calif., starting Friday.
