FAIRFIELD, Calif. - Santa Clara women's golf turned in the second-lowest round on Sunday on the second day of action at the 2026 WCC Championship, carding 7-over 295 to climb closer to second place with just 18 holes remaining. The Broncos are 16-over 592 in total and just strokes behind No. 48 Oregon State (590) for second place. Three individuals sit inside the top 10 of the individual standings, including
Alexa Pineda who shot 1-under 71 on Sunday to climb into a tie for fifth place.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Pineda was 1-over the minimum on the front nine before going on a tear on the back half. She birdied five consecutive holes on Nos. 13-17 before closing with a bogey on the 18th.
- Pineda is in a four-way tie for fifth at 2-over 146 and just a stroke behind teammate Kelsey Kim, who sits in sole possession of fourth place after turning in a 3-over 75 on Sunday to finish the first 36 holes 1-over 145.
- Kim enters Monday's final round just three strokes behind second place and six strokes behind Pepperdine's Eunseo Choi (139) for the lead.
- Chloe Lam turned in her second-straight 2-over 74 and is tied for 10th at 4-over 148.
- Audrey Brust had a three-stroke improvement from Saturday with a 3-over 75. She is tied for 26th at 9-over 153.
- Santa Clara's 295 was second only to No. 10 Pepperdine's 291 for the lowest score of the day.
- Pepperdine holds a firm lead 1-over 577 ahead of the final round.
