MALIBU, Calif. – In a battle between two nationally ranked teams with unbeaten West Coast Conference records, No. 29 Pepperdine came up on top 4-1 over No. 40 Santa Clara men's tennis to snap the Broncos' 13-match win streak on Thursday.  The Waves captured the doubles point and took three of the four doubles match to stay perfect in conference play with a 5-0 record while the Broncos dropped to 4-1.   

HOW IT HAPPENED: 

• Pepperdine (14-7, 5-0 WCC) got wins from the doubles team of Gustavo de Almeida and Maxi Homberg as well as Aleksa Pisaric and Lasse Poertner to go up 1-0.  
• The Waves then claimed the the first two singles matches.  David Fix took down Luca Bluett 6-1, 6-0 on court six and Homberg beat Valentin Faure 6-2, 6-3 on court five to take a commanding 3-0 lead. 
• Lukas Maskow put Santa Clara (17-3, 4-1 WCC) on the board with a straight set victory past Gustavo de Almeida 6-4, 6-3 on court four to make it 3-1. 
• Pisaric clinched the match on court three with a 6-4, 6-4 win over John Kim. 
• SCU's 13-match win streak was the longest since at least 2001-02 season.  Couple of other win streaks were snapped including team-high doubles streak by Faure and Ferran Redza who had won 10 straight before falling to de Almeida and Homberg.  Kim also had his 10 match win streak in singles snapped.
