SANTA CLARA, Calif. - Santa Clara men's basketball and VCU have agreed to play a home-and-home series over the 2026-27 and 2027-28 seasons. 

The first game will be held on the Broncos' home court at the Leavey Center on Nov. 19, 2026. SCU will then make the trip east to Richmond, Va. for a road game during the 2027-28 season. 

Both teams are coming off memorable showings at the 2026 NCAA Tournament. The Broncos made the Big Dance for the first time since 1996 and gave 7-seed Kentucky all they could handle in the opening round before falling in overtime. VCU was on the right end of another memorable first round match up, erasing a 19-point deficit to take down 6-seed North Carolina in overtime, 82-78. The Rams' run came to an end in the round of 32 against No. 13 Illinois, who won 76-55 en route to the Final Four. 

November's game will be the first-ever meeting between the programs.
