SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Santa Clara University women's volleyball opposite hitter Morgan Hayes earned her second consecutive West Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week award Monday after a solid weekend across three matches in the Santa Clara Mission Classic.
 
The junior posted two double-doubles, hit over .300 twice and narrowly missed tying her career high in kills Sunday versus California. Hayes hit .346 while tallying 26 kills – one short of her career-high 27 in the season opener versus Eastern Illinois – and notching 13 digs Sunday versus Golden Bears. She nearly had a triple-double in Santa Clara's 3-2 win over CSU Bakersfield on Saturday, logging 13 kills, 11 digs and a career-high-tying six blocks. Hayes also hit .304 with nine kills versus San Diego State on Friday. She added two service aces on the weekend.
 
Hayes continues to lead the nation in total kills as of Monday with 170. She's had three 20-or-more kills performances and has hit over .300 on five occasions with double-digit kills each time. She also ranks second in the country in total points (188.5) and 15th in kills per set (4.36).
