UNIVERSITY PLACE, Wash. - Santa Clara women's golf newcomer
Ines Izuzquiza Ruiz de Arana had an impressive debut in her first collegiate event as a Bronco. The North Florida transfer shot even par in Tuesday's final round of the Leadership and Golf Invitational to finish the event tied for 15th at 3-over 219. The Broncos tied for eighth place as a team at 24-over par in their first of three events set to be played throughout the fall portion of the 2026-27 schedule.
ROUND HIGHLIGHTS:
- Izuzquiza Ruiz de Arana turned in a mostly clean card in the final round with a birdie on the front and a lone bogey on the back. The 72 was the lowest round of the day for the Broncos and tied for the second-lowest for SCU over the course of the tournament.
- Chloe Lam had her best round of the event on Friday with a 1-over 73 to climb 10 spots into a tie for 27th at 6-over 222 while freshman Sehee Sim was just two strokes behind in a tie for 33rd at 8-over 224.
- Kelsey Kim wrapped her time in the Evergreen State with a 6-over final round to finish tied for 45th at 10-over 226 while Alexa Pineda was 15-over to tie for 68th.
- Eastern Michigan was the lone team among the field of 17 to finish under par (-1) and won the team title by seven strokes ahead of runner-up Colorado (870). The Eagles' Savannah de Bock won medalist honors at 7-under 209.
