SAN MARCOS, Texas — Santa Clara women's soccer tied t-No. 18 Texas St. 0-0 on Sunday. The Broncos (4-2-4) generated seven second-half shots while holding the Bobcats (7-1-2) without an attempt after halftime, finishing with a 12-5 edge in shots and an 8-4 advantage in shots on goal.

Texas State entered the night with one of the top offenses in the country but were shutdown by the Broncos defense. The Bobcats were tied for 12th nationally with 3.11 goals per match and averaged 15 shots per game. They had only been shutout once this season before tonight.

Santa Clara created an early attacking sequence with Kennedy Schoennauer's shot saved in the seventh minute, Adee Goulden's chance going wide and a corner kick by the ninth minute. Jacey Martinez, Izzy DeBuyl and Solana Van Enoo also put shots on goal, while Ally Harrison made four saves to help send the match to halftime at 0-0.

The Broncos looked to have scored the go ahead goal off the foot of Litsy Alcocer but after review the referee determined there was a handball prior to the score.

Santa Clara pressed late in the second half, earning corner kicks in the 85th and 86th minutes and putting three shots on frame through Martinez and Schoennauer, but Caitlyn Draper saved each attempt. Earlier, Raygen Lewis also forced a save in the 56th minute as Santa Clara generated seven shots in the half.

Martinez led the Broncos with four shots and put three on goal. Harrison played all 90 minutes in goal, made four saves and recorded her second consecutive shutout. Schoennauer added three shots, including two on frame.

Draper played all 90 minutes in goal and recorded eight saves without allowing a goal. Sydney Ritter led Texas St. with two shots and put one on goal.
