Biography

As a Senior in 2002: Recorded his first win against San Francisco, striking out five batters in five innings... pitched three scoreless innings against Fresno State on Feb. 3.

As a Redshirt Junior in 2001: Appeared in 16 contests on the mound, getting the starting nod in one game... threw 22.1 innings of work, striking out 16... had a 0-3 record with a 6.85 ERA... threw 2.1 innings of hitless ball while striking out three against San Diego on April 14.

As a Junior in 2000: Played in only one game before sitting out the rest of the season due to arm problems... started the Cal contest on Feb. 2... pitched two innings and gave-up four hits and two runs, while striking out two.

As a Sophomore in 1999: 2-3, 6.07 with a team-high six saves... struck out 26 in 29.2 innings of work... had three saves and a 2.08 ERA after his first eight appearances... struck out a season-high five in 2.1 innings at Fresno State on Feb. 7... posted three saves in a four-game sweep of Oregon State from Feb. 26-28... allowed eight earned runs in three innings (23.99 ERA) over his next five appearances... then had a 0.79 ERA (1 ER in 11.1 IP) with a win and two saves during an 11-game stretch from Mar. 23-Apr. 27... after giving up nine earned runs in 5.2 innings over four games, pitched a scoreless ninth to pick up the save at Loyola Marymount on May 15.

As a Freshman in 1998: Made 19 appearances, including five starts... posted a 2-3 record with a 7.36 ERA in 36.2 innings of work... was roughed up for seven earned runs in 6.2 innings over his first five games before enjoying six straight scoreless outings... went 2-0, 0.00 ERA with one save from Feb. 17 to Mar. 8... pitched two innings in relief to pick up his first career win at San Jose State on Feb. 11... picked up his second win of the year vs. Florida Atlantic on Feb. 15, despite being roughed up for five runs (four earned) in 1.1 innings... pitched 3.2 innings of scoreless relief vs. Stanford on Feb. 24... earned a starting spot for weekend conference games... threw five shutout innings with five strikeouts vs. Portland on Mar. 8, but did not receive a decision... took the loss in his next start at San Diego on Mar. 15... allowed five hits, four runs (three earned) in 5.1 innings... marked the first of eight straight rough outings (0-3, 12.10 ERA) to close the season... did not pitch following the April 28 non-conference game vs. California due to a sore arm.

High School Information: Attended Red Bluff High School in Red Bluff, Calif... head coach was Jim Bonomini... left-handed pitcher compiled a 8-1, 0.67 ERA record as a senior... struck out 80 batters in 55 innings of work... was 17-3, 1.42 ERA for his prep career... tossed a no-hitter as a sophomore... holds Red Bluff High's career record for lowest earned run average... Eastern Athletic League's pitcher of the year as a senior... three-time All-North Coast Section selection... also lettered in basketball and football.
