Ryan Ozella was named the Director of Operations for the Santa Clara University baseball program in October 2021 and is in his fifth year in 2025-26.

Since joining Santa Clara, Ozella has overseen all operational aspects of the program including business operations, team travel, camps, analytics, video and equipment. In his role, Ozella has been instrumental in overseeing and enhancing player development technologies used by the program.

Ozella came to Santa Clara after serving as Perfect Game’s Lead Area Scout for the Northern California region and founding Ozella Baseball Consulting.  The consulting company focused on baseball development at every level, including player and mental development, scouting, media and baseball technology.   

Prior to his time at Perfect Game, Ozella served as the Director of Player Development with Kinetic Performance Institute in 2020 where he oversaw the long-term development of over 60 high school and collegiate players by creating hitting and mental skill development programs using various baseball technologies.

Among his baseball technology certifications include: Baseball Operations Institute – Five Tool Scout School; Rapsodo Baseball – Hitting; K-Motion Baseball – Level 1 KVest, Driveline Baseball – Foundations of Hitting; and Onbase University – Hitting Level 1. 

Between 2018 and 2020, Ozella also served as an Area Scout for Prep Baseball Report California scouting the CIF Central Coast Section.

Ozella also worked in the private sector as an Assistant E-Commerce Catalog Manager at Orion Telescopes & Binoculars and was the Manager of Student Services at the University of the Rockies where he earned his master’s degree in sport and performance psychology.    

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in business administration management from San Diego State in 2008.
