AS A JUNIOR IN 2025: Played in 24 games, started in 15 ... made nine starts behind the dish and six as the designated player ...hit for a .234 average (11-for-47) with three doubles and five RBIs ... scored six times ... had two multi-hit games ... hit two sacrifice flies ... had a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage in 46 chances with 41 putouts and five assists ... threw out two of nine would-be stealers.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2024: Played in 33 games, started in 26 ... 17 of the starts came as the designated player ... hit 10 times in the clean up spot ... posted a slash line of .210/.227/.309 ... went 17-for-81 with five doubles, one home run, 11 RBIs and 13 runs scored ... hit four sacrifice flies to tie for the team lead with Hazyl Gray ... had three multi-hit and a pair of multi-RBI games ... hit first career home run against North Dakota State (March 8) ... hit two doubles against Southern Utah (Feb. 23) ... stole four bases in five attempts.
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2023: Played in 11 games, started in six ... made four starts as the catcher and two as the designated player including in the season opener against Rutgers (Feb. 10) ... went 3-for-20 on the year ... scored first career run against Rutgers ... recorded first career hits and RBI against Buffalo (Feb. 17).
HIGH SCHOOL: A graduate of Salinas High School in Salinas, California ... named scholar-athlete all four years ... helped lead the 2020 and 2021 squads to a combined 17-2 record including the 2021 league championship ... hit .349 as senior ... was a cheerleader for four years ... part of the Fitness and Sports Training Academy.
CLUB: Played for the Salinas Storm Fastpitch team ... 2021 Colorado Sparkler 18u Open Division Champions ... had a .448 and .452 batting averages in the summer and fall prior to senior season ... had 50 RBIs in 50 games in 2021.
GET TO KNOW MARIE: Inspiration to play college softball came from being raised in a very athletic family ... mother, Gina, played tennis at Fresno State, brother, Kyle, played football at Humboldt State, and brother, Nathan, played baseball at UC Berkeley before getting drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 5th round of the 2022 MLB draft ... plans to attend a graduate school where she will pursue her dream of earning a doctorate of physical therapy degree ... ideal job would be to work as a physical therapist for a professional sports team ... hobbies include spending time with friends and family, exploring cities, going to lookout points to enjoy a good view, working out, and being busy ... when back home, enjoys giving back to the Salinas Storm Softball Organization where she works on softball skills with young girls.
