CUMMINS ON MILLER: "Matt is a guy that will start the season probably hitting leadoff. He will play the outfield and DH. He is a good leadoff batter and he has good power so he can play a lot of different roles for us. A lot of our success this season will hinge on how many times we can get Matt to home plate. He is switch-hitting a little more this season to take advantage of his speed."
AS A JUNIOR IN 2000: Appeared in 46 games and started 31...team-leader and eighth in the WCC in stolen bases with 13...successful on 13-of-17 steal attempts...committed just two errors on the season...went 3-for-5 with four RBI, a home run and four runs scored at San Francisco...went a combined 6-for-8 in back-go-back game against USF and New Mexico State...made five single-game plate appearances on seven occasions...went 8-for-17 in six games against USF...registered three stolen bases against San Jose State.
