JUNIOR (2017): Made eight appearances on the mound, seven of which were starts ... posted an 0-5 record with a 6.88 ERA in 34.0 innings pitched ... he struck out 21 batters and walked 19 ... threw 6.0 innings at Oregon and allowed just three earned runs with three strikeouts ... made his final appearance of the season against Loyola Marymount on April 9 before being shut down the rest of the season due to injury.
AS A SOPHOMORE (2016): Made eight appearances and three starts ... went 0-1 with a 5.06 ERA ... pitched 16.0 innings and allowed 12 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits with 16 walks and 12 strikeouts ... held opponents to a .207 batting average ... pitched 3.0 relief innings and struck out four batters while surrendering only two unearned runs on one hit on opening night vs. No. 24 Notre Dame Feb. 19 ... made his first collegiate start and struck out two batters in 4.0 innings while holding San José State to one run Feb. 23 ... pitched a scoreless ninth inning vs. Cal Poly April 5.
AS A FRESHMAN (2015): Made six appearances out of the bullpen ... finished with no decisions and an 18.00 ERA ... pitched 3.0 innings and allowed seven runs (six earned) on two hits with 10 walks and four strikeouts ... held opponents to a .167 batting average ... made his college debut and pitched 1.1 innings with three strikeouts vs. Eastern Michigan Feb. 27 … struck out one batter in a shutout inning vs. UC Davis April 28.

PERSONAL: Son of Vince and Reda Bono … one sister, Ashley, and two brothers, Kevin and Daniel … father, Vince, was the captain of the 1988 Black Knights ice hockey team at the United States Military Academy … hobbies include watching movies, hanging out with friends and playing guitar … has volunteered at Food Bank and Children’s Hospital.

ASSOCIATE HEAD COACH GABE RIBAS ON BONO: “Michael is an extremely good athlete that is a prospect both as a pitcher and a hitter. He has been up to 94 miles per hour with his fastball and is a very good player in all aspects of the game who will have a chance to compete for us right away as a pitcher and third baseman. He has all the makings of being very special for us. I think Michael’s family values are similar to the ones that we work hard to uphold in the program. Michael’s dad is a West Point grad, and he has clearly had discipline in his life. His family is also very warm and supportive, and those are the things that we reflect in the program. Hard work, mixed with support and belief, can take you a long way.”
