As a Sophomore in 2003: Started 27 of 28 games on the field for the Broncos... recorded 26 hits, including five doubles, one triple and three homeruns... ended the season with a .255 batting average... batted in 18 runs... made 18 appearances on the mound, including five starts... pitched 26.2 innings... had a 5.74 ERA... tallied 22 strikeouts.

At Vanderbilt in 2001: Batted .340 in 31 games for the Commodores in 2001 with seven doubles, five home runs and 30 runs batted in... made 14 appearances on the mound as a freshman, starting one of those games... posted a 2-1 record in those 14 appearances, striking out 13 batters in 19 full innings of work... had a slugging percentage of .567 and an on base percentage of .431 in 97 at-bats.

High School Information: Selected by San Diego in the 18th round of the 2001 First-Year Player Draft... two-time All-American and two-time First Team All-California Interscholastic Federation honoree... earned CIF Pitcher of the year as a senior, recording an 8-4 record with 112 strikeouts and 1.99 ERA in 69 innings at St. Augustine... also batted .450 with seven home runs and 15 doubles last season... helped lead his team to three league championships and two county second-place finishes while setting the school record for wins, strikeouts and innings pitched... posted a 5-4 record with a 3.12 ERA and 74 strikeouts in 55 innings pitched while batting .414 with two home runs and 10 doubles as a junior ... captain of team his junior and senior years... named San Diego Union Tribune second team All-League as a freshman and sophomore and Union Tribune first team All-League as a junior and senior... received first team All-Academic selection along with honor roll and first honors recognition.
