Alan Guillou is entering his first season as Santa Clara Men's Basketball's Director of Operations and his fourth year with the staff overall including his two-year stint as a graduate assistant.

A native of Paris, France, Guillou takes over as the Broncos’ director of operations following Will Burkett’s promotion to assistant coach earlier in the summer.

Guillou has been a member of the Broncos’ coaching staff since the 2022-23 season, first joining as a graduate assistant for the first two seasons while working towards his Master’s in Educational Leadership, which he earned in June of 2024. Following his graduation, the Broncos brought him back to the staff as the team’s Assistant Director, Analytics and Player Personnel where he focused mainly on scouting and analytical breakdowns.

Prior to Santa Clara, Guillou worked as both an independent scout and a volunteer video coordinator for JDA Dijon French Division U21 Team in 2021-22, the same year that the team finished third in their league standings. He graduated from Paris-Sorbonne University with a bachelor’s in history and received his Master’s in pollical science in 2020. During his time working towards his degree, Guillou was a contributor for two French basketball websites – Dunkhebdo and Envergure – as a feature writer and podcast host for six years.

During his time as a scout, Guillou had a major hand in Santa Clara landing future two-time All-WCC performer Adama-Alpha Bal, who joined Santa Clara from Le Mans, France. He also helped identify current freshman Noah Badibanga, and continues to assist with Santa Clara’s international recruiting efforts.

Guillou is the final member of head coach Herb Sendek’s staff, joining associate head coaches Jason Ludwig and Ryan Madry, and assistant coaches Will Burkett, Jackson Gion and Mitch Smith. Sendek, who signed a five-year extension in the offseason, is entering his 10th season at the helm of the program in 2025-26.
