AS A SENIOR IN 2002: Sustained a broken jaw on February 16 against Humboldt State...continued to add to her stolen base record going 13-17 once she returned...ended the season with 35 hits in 119 at-bats giving her a batting average of .294...received the Most Inspirational Award...moves into the career record books as she adds to her first place lead for stolen bases with 90...takes over second for walks with 53, third for hits with 167, third for runs with 80, and third for at-bats with 644.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2001: Started in 52 games at center field...led the team with a .276 batting average in 156 at bats...had a .354 on base percentage...recorded 43 hits with one double and one triple...led the team with 19 stolen bases on 25 attempts with a team high of three stolen bases against New Mexico on March 14th and San Francisco State on April 18th...had a .949 fielding percentage.

AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2000: Joined Roni Rivera and Kristi Harrington as one of three players to start all 51 games, doing so in left field... led the team with 155 at bats, batting .213... posted 33 hits and a team-high 14 runs... led the team with 16 stolen bases, on 21 attempts... added 70 putouts.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 1999: Set new single-season and career records for stolen bases with 42, surpassing both the old single-season record of 19 and the individual career record of 37... finished the season second on the team in hitting with a .262 batting average, behind graduate Kim Maynard... only player to start all 68 games... led the team with 33 runs in 56 at bats... 33 runs earned her a second-place seat in single season runs... contributed to the outfield in both left and center field positions... named to the All-Tournament team at the WISL Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Bullard High School where she played centerfield for Erica Blanco... batted .421 while setting single-season school records with 31 stolen bases and total runs scored... led Bullard to four North Yosemite League titles... Yosemite League Most Valuable Player as a senior... also earned All-State and All-CIF first team honors... recipient of Senior Girl Athlete Award at Bullard... played seven years on the Force Gold, an Amateur Softball Association Top-10 ranked club team... also lettered in soccer... graduated from Bullard as a member of the honor roll with a 3.6 grade point average and earned the Outstanding Leadership Student Award... was the vice president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

PERSONAL: Full name is Sydney LeeAnn Wiginton... parents are Bob and Colleen Wiginton... Bob played baseball for Fresno State... older sister Kellie was an All-American catcher at Stanford 1997-2000 and is currently a volunteer assistant coach for the Broncos... younger brother Bobby is a freshman at SCU and plays on the baseball team... born October 21, 1980... majoring in communications.
