Burns Student-Athlete Spotlight (April 21, 2020)
AS A SENIOR IN 2020: Played in and started all 24 games … hit .323 with two doubles, two runs scored, and 17 RBIs … knocked in two runs vs. Idaho State (2/15) … picked up two hits, a run scored, and an RBI vs. UTEP (2/16) … was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and three RBIs vs. North Dakota (2/23) … drove in five runs vs. Saint Francis (3/6).
AS A JUNIOR IN 2019: WCC All-Academic honorable mention … appeared in 35 games and made 13 starts … scored three runs and had one RBI … had eight hits … walked seven times.
AS A SOPHOMORE IN 2018: Appeared in 44 games and made 41 starts … led the team with 25 RBIs … scored eight runs … hit six doubles, one triple, and one home run … had two hits and three RBIs vs. Cal Poly (Feb. 24) … picked up two hits and three RBIs vs. North Dakota (March 11) … had a home run and three RBIs vs. Fairleigh Dickinson (March 17) … collected three RBIs and a pair of hits vs. Saint Mary’s (May 12).
AS A FRESHMAN IN 2017: Appeared in 42 games and started 32 … hit .223 … hit two home runs … had five doubles … finished third with 17 RBIs … scored six runs … collected five multi-hit games.
HIGH SCHOOL: As a junior was named Oaks Christian Offensive Player of the Year, Washington Union Invitational All-Tournament, First Team All-Marmonte, First Team All-Ventura County, Second Team All-Area, First Team All-CIF Division 2, Second Team All-State Underclassman, and First Team All-American NCSAA … hit 4.11 with a .472 on-base percentage and blasted six home runs … team went 25-7 overall and 7-2 in league while advancing to the CIF quarterfinals … as a sophomore named First Team All-Tri-Valley as her team went 29-4 and 12-0 in league … advanced again to the CIF quarterfinals … as a freshman was named Second Team All-Tri-Valley and her team went 25-8 and 9-3 in league … advanced to the CIF semifinals.
PERSONAL: Member of the For the Troops club and Fellowship for Christian Athletes … logged over 200 hours of community service with the National Charity League … on the honor roll in ninth and 11th grade and a member of the Dean's list in 10th grade … off the field enjoys watching college football and going to concerts.
