Curtis McAlister

Curtis McAlister is in his 23rd season as an assistant coach. In addition to being the programs recruiting coordinator, he works with the back line players and goalkeepers.

As a proven recruiter and coach, McAlister has helped the Broncos win 300 total matches in 22 seasons, qualify for 20 NCAA Tournaments, win 38 NCAA Tournament matches, advance to six quarterfinals and advance all the way to the College Cup three times, culminating in the programs second National Championship in 2020.

A native of Modesto, Calif., McAlister came from Washington State University, where he spent four years as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator.

In addition to being a USSF licensed coach, McAlister brings seven years of professional playing experience to the Bronco program (1991-97), and in 1995, he was a member of the U.S. National Futsal Team. He was also a member of the Major Soccer League champion San Diego Sockers in 1992.

McAlister has also served as the head goalkeeper coach for the Olympic Development Program West Region and as an assistant with U.S. Soccer National Youth Teams.

McAlister is a 1991 graduate of San Diego State with a bachelor's degree in economics. 

McAlister resides in Santa Cruz with his wife, Felicia Billey, whom he married in August 2003. They are proud parents of daughters Ruby, 19, and Maisie, 16.
