Theresa Gethins joined the Santa Clara University Sports Medicine staff in January 2024. She serves as an Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and is the primary athletic trainer for the Broncos women's soccer team.
Gethins came to SCU after spending two women's soccer seasons at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to her time at Cal, she worked at San Jose State University for 10 years, working a variety of sports, but spending most of her time with the baseball and women's soccer programs. Before her time as a Spartan, she worked at the University of Cincinnati. During her six years as a Bearcat, she cared for the men's and
women's soccer programs.
A native of Orange County, Calif., Gethins received her Bachelor of Science degree from Humboldt State University (Now "Cal Poly Humboldt"), where she was also a member of the women's basketball team. She received her Master of Arts degree from Chico State University.
