AS A SENIOR IN 2001: A Hermann Trophy semifinalist and MAC Player of the Year finalist... also named a first team all-American... Named the WCC's Defender of the Year and a first-team All-WCC member... named the NSCAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year and an Academic all-American... earned WCC all-Academic honors as well... a first-team NSCAA All-West Region Team member... named the Defensive MVP of the College Cup... named one of the 50 best athletes all-time in the conference during the league's 50th anniversary celebration... is the only current student-athlete on that list... named to the all-adidas Classic team... started all 25 matches... posted two goals and 11 assists... 11 assists marked the third best in the league... scored first goal off a corner kick against second-ranked UCLA in the match's seventh minute... notched two assists in the Broncos' 10-0 defeat of Gonzaga... added two more on senior night against Colorado College... held Colorado College to one shot on goal... assisted on the game-winner in the NCAA first round against Evansville... held Syracuse to two shots in NCAA Second Round and Dartmouth to one shot in the third round... scored the first goal and assisted on the second against Virginia... held Florida's Abby Wambach to two shots in the College Cup semifinal... began the season at left back but was moved to the center in late September to secure the defense... has effectively shut down opposing team's attacks... with fellow senior Anna Kraus, anchored a defense that was flanked by two freshman and a freshman goalkeeper... only allowed seven goals all season in the run of play with 14 shutouts.

AS A JUNIOR IN 2000: Missed nine matches while earning a silver medal in Sydney, Australia, as part of the U.S. Olympic Team... was the youngest member of the squad and the only Olympic Team member with college eligibility remaining... named an NSCAA/adidas All-American, also earned West Region first team honors... an All-WCC first team selection... started 14 of 15 contests upon her return... the only match she didn't start was against Wake Forest, when her plane was still arriving from Sydney, Australia... made it to the game by halftime and immediately started warming up... named the Black Issues in Higher Education's Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year... Named the San Jose Sports Hall of Fame Female Amateur Athlete of the Year... placed fourth as a finalist for the Missouri Athletic Club's Collegiate Player of the Year Award... also a collegesoccer.com second team All-American... AS A SOPHOMORE IN 1999: Earned first-team All-America honors after charting four goals and 14 assists for 22 points... one of five Broncos to reach double-figures in assists, and the only defender... her 14 assists ranked second on the team and is the second-highest single-season total by a defender in Bronco history... earned first-team All-WCC honors... started in all 21 matches in which she played... selected to the All-Tournament team at the Stanford/Nike Classic... began the season with five assists during the first three games... teamed with Devvyn Hawkins to record double-assists on both goals in Santa Clara's 2-0 win at California on opening day... sent a long ball to Megan Horvath for the final Bronco goal in a 3-1 win against Stanford in the home opener... named to Soccer America's Team of the Week following her multi-assist performance against San Jose State, feeding two teammates for first-half scores during a 4-0 victory... tallied an assist against Duke... scored on a 20-yard free kick for first goal of the year against Alabama... also added an assist against the Crimson Tide... netted the game-winning strike off a corner kick at 11:45 as Santa Clara downed visiting Cal Poly... recorded a pair of assists during a 5-0 win at Pepperdine... posted a goal and an assist during Santa Clara's conference-championship clinching victory against San Francisco... in addition to leading the Bronco defense to three shutouts in three NCAA tournament games, totaled four post-season assists... fed Mandy Clemens for the game-winning goal in a win over Brigham Young in the second round... dished a pair of second-half assists against UCLA in the third round... teamed with Heather Aldama on the double-assist of Aly Wagner's second goal during a 3-0 victory against Connecticut in the national quarterfinals.

AS A FRESHMAN IN 1998: Selected the 1998 WCC Freshman of the Year... third team NSCAA/adidas All-America selection... named to the NSCAA All-Far West First Team... saw action in 23 matches, including 19 starts... did not play against California due to injury... tallied a goal and nine assists, good for 11 points... sent a through ball to Megan Horvath for her first career assist during the Broncos' 9-2 victory over Washington State... earned her first collegiate start at San Jose State, and responded by feeding Whitney Hollis at the 7:59 mark for the only score of the game... assisted on the game-winner of 5-0 victory over No. 25 Duke in the championship game of the Santa Clara/Nike Classic... notched an assist against Gonzaga... dished a pair of first-half assists to help Santa Clara defeat Saint Mary's 8-0... scored first career goal at San Francisco, off a direct free kick... started all four NCAA Tournament matches... recorded first career postseason point when she assisted on Kylie Bivens' goal during a 3-0 defeat of BYU in the third round... teamed with Kathleen Celio for the double-assist on Megan Horvath's game-winner against No. 6 Connecticut in an NCAA Quarterfinal.

NATIONAL TEAM EXPERIENCE: An Olympic Silver Medalist, particpating as a member of the U.S. National Team at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia... was the youngest member of the squad and the only Olympic Team member with college eligibility remaining... earned all but one of her career caps in 2000... played in 23 matches, starting 13 ... had knee surgery after the Olympics and missed the final three games of the year ... scored her first career goal against Australia on Jan. 13, helping the USA win the match and the tournament ... picked up three assists on the year ... a member of five 2000 tournament-winning teams, including the Australia Cup, the Algarve Cup, the CONCACAF Women's Gold Cup, the Pacific Cup and the DFB Jubilee Tournament in Germany... made her debut for the full national team on Feb. 24, 1999 vs. Finland... a member of Under-21 National Team in 1999 and a team captain, she started on the Nordic Cup championship team in Iceland... captained the U.S. Under-16 team in 1996-97.

HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Presentation High School in San Jose, Calif... played under coach Mani Hernandez... led the Panthers to three Central Coast Section Championship games... was named first team All-Santa Teresa Athletic League all four years... also named first team All-CCS all four years... honored as the San Jose Mercury News Freshman and Sophomore of the Year following the 1995 and '96 seasons... three-year member of Presentation's Student Body Government... was on the school's honor roll all four years... awarded a scholarship from the 100 Black Men of Silicon Valley... graduated with a 4.0 grade point average... played club soccer for the Central Valley Mercury, coached by Vicky Wagner and Phillippe Blin, a former Santa Clara assistant and current head coach at San Jose State... helped lead team to the three consecutive national championships in 1996, `97 and `98.

PERSONAL: Born June 10, 1980 in Santa Clara, Calif... daughter of Frank and Sandy Slaton... father ran track for Speed City at San Jose State in the late 1960s and her sister runs track at California... has more than 100 cousins, as her grandfather was one of 17 children... majoring in biology with an emphasis in psychology... participated in ballet for seven years (from age 5-12) and traveled to Russia to perform when she was eight years old.
